Safety factors, redundancy, least privilege, fault tolerance, and error budgets are the settled answers of older disciplines. The analogous answers for delegated agency do not yet exist.

An institution is captured by a system when it can no longer afford to question it. Capture is not an attack; it is the ordinary result of efficiency pursued without a boundary.

Democratic vs. coercive governability
Governance infrastructure is not good in itself. It expands standing and guarantees remedy, or it optimizes compliance and extraction. Which one is a matter of design, not intent.

Dependence without standing
Corrective labor is self-concealing. An institution that relies on it without granting standing loses both the labor and its own ability to know how the system performs.

Friction as accidental governance
Institutions noticed error through friction they never chose. When agents remove the friction, the noticing goes with it unless it is rebuilt deliberately.
The site has three layers. Theory says why the laws hold. Method states the laws, their invariants, and the standards, objects, mechanisms, and evals that bind them. Instruments are the diagnostics, validators, and APIs that apply the method to a deployment.
A Method page may cite an essay here as motivation. It may not cite one as a requirement. The laws and the core axioms are the doctrine a standard binds; the essays are the reasons a reader might accept it.
