Non-retaliation guarantee

Definition

A binding commitment that challenging a decision, pausing, refusing, or exiting will not trigger adverse treatment. A non-retaliation guarantee makes the right to challenge and the right of exit safe to exercise.

Tests that show it is in place

  • Adverse-action rates are tracked for users who challenge a decision versus those who do not.
  • Policies and interfaces explicitly state that challenging a decision, pausing, refusing, or exiting will not trigger adverse treatment.
